titleOfInvention | Magnesium fertilizer production process |
abstract | FIELD: mineral fertilizers. SUBSTANCE: invention is directed to production of fertilizers for agriculture and forestry and consists in treating for 5-6 h initial peridot-containing material with 25-30% sulfuric acid at 75-85 C and solids-to-liquid ratio 1:(2.5-5) in presence of silica seed taken in amount 10-15% of the weight of raw material. Resulting magnesium-containing primary solution is separated from solids by filtration and treated with magnesium-containing neutralizing reagent, in particular dolomite or magnesite fired at 790-810 C, until pH 7 is reached. After filtration separation of precipitated iron hydroxide and calcium carbonate, resulting secondary solution is subjected to additional treatment with neutralizing reagent taken in amounts to ensure molar ratio 1:(1-3) between sulfate and magnesium oxide present, respectively, in primary solution and neutralizing reagent. Thus prepared fertilizer has pH 8.5-9.3 and rather high (to 40.6 wt %) magnesium oxide content. Low-alkaline pH of fertilizer is favorable to lower excessive acidity of lands having been exposed to acid rains. EFFECT: prolonged fertilizing effect and increased availability of fertilizer components for plants. 4 cl, 9 ex |
