abstract | FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of preparing epotilons modified at 16,17-position. Method involves hydrogenation of non-protected epotilons A and B or that protected at position 3,7 (a) by double bond at position 16,17 or (b) method involves epoxidation reaction by double bond at position 16,17 and, if necessary, the prepared epoxide is reduced to alcohol at position 16. Invention relates also to method of preparing epotilon-N-oxides where non-protected or protected at position 3,7 epotilons A and B are converted to N-oxide. The prepared N-oxide if necessary is subjected for Catar's reaction. Invention relates to method of preparing epotilons modified at position C-19 by metallization reaction of protected or non-protected epotilons A and B at position C-19 and to modified epotilons of the general formula (I) given in the invention description.
