titleOfInvention | Fire-retardant foaming coating composition |
abstract | FIELD: protective coatings. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to foaming polymeric coatings producing fire- retardant effect when protecting wood and heat-insulation effect when protecting metal structures, and which may be applied in building construction as well as in aviation, rail-way transport, and shipbuilding. Fire-retardant coating composition contains: binding agent, in particular dispersion of liquid glass in tar or tar mixture at ratio between 10:90 and 40:60; carbonizable substance such as fire-retardant polyatomic alcohol and/or starch; foaming agent in the form of at least one substance selected from group including ammonium phosphate, ammonium polyphosphate, urea, boric acid, and ammonium chloride; dispersant agent in the form of at least one substance selected from group including titanium dioxide, built-up mica, kaolin, and glass fiber; and at least one solvent such as white spirit, xylene, acetone, and water; all taken in specified proportions. EFFECT: enhanced fire-retardant property, reduced required amount, and improved physicomechanical properties. 6 cl, 2 tbl, 6 ex |
