FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the improved method of synthesis of carboxamido-4-azasteroids of the general formula (I) where dotted lines mean independently a single or double bond; each of R, R 1 , R 2 , R 3 means hydrogen atom or organic radical. Method involves treatment of corresponding intermediate compounds of 17β--carbonyl-imidazoles with anhydrous acids in the presence of amine and optional hydrogenation of the synthesized compound. Method provides good yields and allows to synthesize amides from amines exhibiting sterilely hindered and/or low nucleophilic properties and therefore low reactive capacity.
