titleOfInvention Method for treating the cases of pain dysfunction and inflammatory degenerative diseases of temporomandibular articulation
abstract FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying electric stimulation with pulsating modulated current to temporomandibular articulation, chewing muscles and neck muscles area. Digastric muscle, trapezoid muscle in interscapular area are additionally treated, the trapezoid muscle being alternatingly treated with sternocleidomastoid muscles. The electric stimulation is carried out with low frequency pulsating current having bipolar asymmetric impulse shape with trapezoid envelope line. Current intensity is selected according to patient sensation in varying it from slight vibration to muscle contraction. Temporomandibular articulation projections are concurrently treated in front of tragus and endocaudally with 100-150 Hz frequency and continuous shape of the pulses. Current intensity is selected in this case according to patient sensation of slight vibration. Exposure time is gradually increased from 5 to 20 min during a course. The course is 14-15 procedures long. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment.
