abstract | FIELD: leather industry, in particular, manufacture of Russian leather from cattle skins. SUBSTANCE: method involves fleshing of raw material; soaking off; liming; deliming; softening; pickling; chrome tanning; neutralizing semi-finished product; dying; final tanning; providing first water-proofing stage by using copolymer of methacrylic acid, acrylonitrile, isoprene and butylacrylate taken in the ratio of 55:5:35:5, respectively. Copolymer is used in an amount making 2-3 wt% of semi- finished product. Method further involves additional dying, separation and drying.
