titleOfInvention Method of synthesis of niobium pentachloride
abstract FIELD: inorganic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a field of synthesis of niobium pentachloride from niobium-containing raw. Method involves the use of ferroniobium and calcium carbide or cyanamide as parent substances. Method involves interaction of parent substances at temperature 1000-1500 C. Interaction of ferroniobium with calcium carbide or cyanamide in nitrogen medium is preferable. The interaction process can be performed in the presence of the following additions: alkaline or earth-alkaline metals or copper taken in the amount ≤ 1wt.-%. After chlorination the separation and purification of niobium and tantalum pentachlorides by the known methods to be carried out is desirable. Method provides the preparing pure niobium pentachloride. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis, increased yield of end product, simplified method. 4 cl, 2 ex
