abstract FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology, catalysts. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of vinyl acetate from acetic acid, ethylene and oxygen or oxygen-containing gases. Process is carried out in gaseous phase using heterogeneous catalyst comprising palladium and/or its compounds, gold and/or its compounds, alkaline metal compounds and at least one lanthanide metal and/or its compounds distributed on carrier. Lanthanide metal content is 0.01-1 wt.-% of total mass of catalyst. Preferably used lanthanide metals are praseodymium, samarium, europium, neodymium, dysprosium.
