titleOfInvention Surgical method for correcting high degree mixed astigmatism
abstract FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves producing superficial corneal flap and bending it upward. Non- perforating arc-shaped incision are made on the stromal bed. The incision diameters vary from 5.5 to 6.5 mm. Angular size of the incisions varies from 40 to 90 deg. Incision depths reach 90% of thickness remained after having produced the scleral flap. Corneal stroma is exposed to eximer laser radiation treatment in view of spherical myopic ablations symmetrically arranged relative to the cornea center. Ablation diameters vary from 2.0 to 4.0 mm. The e surface flows outside through the incisions. The vitreous body cavity is repeatedly filled with perfluororganic substance to the level of posterior iridolenticular membrane surface. Silicon oil gathered on the perfluororganic substance surface passively flows outside through the scleral pierces. After having removed the silicon oil, the perfluororganic substance is substituted with irrigation solution. The arc-shaped incision lengths are determined from a formula: L= 1.98 Efs - 0.18 Efs *d - 0.08 d=0.88, where L is the arc-shaped incision lengths, Efs is the given effect in the strongest meridian, d is the arc-shaped incisions diameter.
