SUBSTANCE: methane conversion catalyst containing nickel oxide 3.7-16.0%, and lanthanum oxide 0.1-4.1% deposited on alumina-magnesium oxide support additionally contains zirconium dioxide 0.1-2.2%. Support is shaped as three-leaved figure with three cylindrical holes having equal wall cross-section thickness. Synthesis gas is prepared in presence of this catalyst at temperatures within 750-950 C.
