abstract FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: process is characterized by its carrying out in water-alkali emulsion on reactors' series divided into two stage. In the first stage less than 18% of the total weight of cumene hydroperoxide is involved together with NH 4 NaCO 3 as active carbonate. In the second stage, more than 18% cumene hydroperoxide is involved together with Na 2 CO 3 . as active carbonate. Ammonium is directly injected into recirculation flow to efficiently neutralize organic acids. Countercurrent water washing in the second stage allows process efficiency to be increased owing to washing off undesired impurities. Controlling pH further increases efficiency of process.
