abstract FIELD: organic chemistry, steroids, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to steroid compound of the general formula (I) where means =O, -OH, OR or OOCR where R means alkyl group with from 1 to 6 carbon atoms; R 6 means H or where m = 1 or 2; R 7 means H, C 1-4 - alkyl, C 2-4 - alkenyl or C 2-4 - alkynyl; R 11 means H, C 1-4 - alkyl, C 2-4 - alkenyl, C 2-4 - alkynyl; E means (with exception of carbon atoms 16 and 17 of ring D) 4-7-membered hydrocarbon ring where indicated ring is at α- position with respect to ring D substituted with the group R E , and comprises optionally one endocyclic double bond; R E means H, C 1-5 alkyl, C 2-5 - alkenyl, C 2-5 - alkynyl, C 1-5 - alkylidene, -(CH 2 ) n -N 3 or -(CH 2 ) n where n = 1 or 2 and where alkyl group can be substituted for OR, -OOCR where R is alkyl with 1-6 carbon atoms; R 17 means OH, -OR or OOCR where R means alkyl with 1-6 carbon atoms where indicated steroid compound can involve but optionally a single double bond, Δ5(10), Δ4(5) either ring A can be aromatic. The invention relates to also a pharmaceutical composition comprising the indicated steroid compound. Steroid compounds of the invention shows very high effectiveness for prophylaxis or treatment of disorders associated with per- or post menopause and, more preferably, for prophylaxis or treatment of osteoporosis.
