titleOfInvention | Grain processing to form ethyl alcohol and protein product |
abstract | FIELD: alcohol production. SUBSTANCE: process consists of two stages, in the first one of which husk obtained after grain peeling operation or grain screenings obtained after grain grinding operation is extracted with alkali solution at pH 10-11 and temperature 50- 60 C for 40-60 min. Resulting material is fractioned to give liquid fraction and insoluble residue. Liquid fraction is separated into phase and starch-protein product is recovered. Liquid phase is supplemented by 10% HCl solution to pH 4.2-5.6 and separated into whey and protein paste. The latter is washed and dried to give protein product. In the second stage, starch-rich fraction obtained after grain peeling or screening is mixed with water, after which previously obtained whey and starch-protein product are added. The batch is subjected to heat and water treatment and saccharification to give wort. The latter is fermented to give mash, from which ethyl alcohol is recovered. EFFECT: intensified process, increased yield of alcohol, and enabled production of valuable protein product. 3 ex |
