abstract | FIELD: medicine, phytotherapy, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to development of cerebroprotecting agent of vegetable origin eliciting an antihypoxic activity and used for prophylaxis of states accompanying with hypoxia. Invention proposes the cerebroprotecting agent including all species of crowberry extract. Extract is prepared by three-stage extractions with chloroform in the ratio raw : extractant = 1:10, then with acetone in the ratio extract : extractant = 1:10 and then with hexane in the ratio extract : extractant = 1:5. Invention proposes also method of cerebroprotecting agent preparing. The proposed cerebroprotecting agent shows an antihypoxic activity in the range of large doses - up to 200 mg/kg.
