abstract | FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing fluorine-containing compounds by reacting aromatic compound containing no heteroatoms in nucleus or containing up to 3 nitrogen atoms in nucleus, said nucleus containing fluorine or bromine atoms and containing optionally at least one additional substituent promoting nucleophilic substitution of aromatic compound, with fluoride or mixture of fluorides of general formula I: MeF (I) wherein Me is alkaline earth metal cation, ammonium ion or alkali metal ion in the presence or absence of solvent at temperatures from 40 to 260 C. Reaction is carried out in the presence of compound or mixture of compounds of formula II: wherein A 1 , A 2 , A 3 , A 4 ,A 5 , A 6 , A 7 , A 8 are independently same or different linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl groups having up to 12 carbon atoms, aryl groups having from 6 to 12 carbon atoms, dialkyl groups having from 7 to 12 carbon, or A 1 A 2 , A 3 A 4 , A 5 A 6 , A 7 A 8 are independently same or different with oxygen atoms being attached to each other to form nucleus having from 3 to 7 carbon atoms, B is monobasic acid residue or equivalent multibasic acid residue. Invention makes it possible to prepare desired fluorine-containing compounds used in liquid crystalline mixtures with high or very high yields at lower reaction temperatures and reaction time of short duration.
