abstract |
FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing linear monoalkylated benzene by alkylation of benzene with olefin in the presence of fluorine-containing mordenite. Method comprises (a) contacting benzene with olefin containing from 5 to 30 carbon atoms in the presence of mordenite containing fluorine in amount from about 0.1 to about 4 wt.% in such conditions as to form linear monoalkyl benzene and (b) contacting stage (a) product with benzene in the presence of catalyst based on montmoryllonite clay containing fluorine in amount from about 0.1 to about 10 wt.%, stage (b) product having bromine number less than bromine number of stage (a) product.
