abstract FIELD: dissolving powder of uranium oxide mixed up with plutonium oxide and/or of mixed up uranium and plutonium oxides. SUBSTANCE: powder is dissolved in nitric acid solution using bivalent silver produced by electrolysis. Method involves two sequential stages and single dissolving device. Reacting solution circulates in closed loop; during first continuous stage uranium oxide is dissolved and solution containing dissolved uranium is discharged; during second periodic stage plutonium oxide accumulated during first stage is dissolved by electrolysis. EFFECT: reduced silver consumption and power loss; provision for separating uranium from plutonium. 11 cl, 1 dwg
