titleOfInvention | Method for estimation of severity of endotoxicosis |
abstract | FIELD: burn diseases. SUBSTANCE: laboratory characteristics of blood obtained from patient with burn trauma are evaluated for 25 clinical items of 6 systems. In particular, for central nervous system such characteristic as Glasgow scale is considered. For cardiovascular system: skin color, skin moisture, pulse rate, arterial pressure, central venous pressure. In respiratory system: respiratory rate; partial pressure of carbon dioxide, pH, and base deficiency in venous blood; oxygenation, partial pressure of carbon dioxide, pH, and base deficiency in arterial blood. In excretory- disintoxication system: concentration of middle-mass molecules on red blood cells, in arterial blood plasma and urine, diuresis. In immunity system: circulating immune complexes and leucocytic index of intoxication in venous and arterial blood. In gastrointestinal tract: presence of peristaltic, defecation, and gas release. Each characteristic is assessed by points. 0 points corresponds to that characteristic in question lies within the limits of age-dependent norm; 1 point: when physiological parameters at rest deviate from norm but their functions are compensated by organs of one or two systems; 2 points: compensation is achieved by changes in more than two systems and it reaches its peak; and 3 points correspond adaptation failure or elimination of functions of one or more systems. When sum of points is between 15 and 25, lack of endotoxicosis in burned patient is diagnosed; with 26 to 45 points, severity of endotoxicosis corresponds to I degree; with 46-65 points, II degree; and with 66 points and more, III degree. EFFECT: increased efficiency of diagnosis and treatment. 1 tbl, 4 ex |
