FIELD: electrochemical processes and catalyst production. SUBSTANCE: compounds suitable for use as catalysts contain, in particular, at least one transition metal from IV-VII subgroups and VIII group with degree of oxidation 0 or 1, which is associated with at least one monodentate phosphine of general formula P(Ar1) a (Ar2) b (Ar3) c (D1) d (D2) e (D3) f or bidentate phosphine of general formula . Synthesis of catalysts consists in electrolysis of aqueous solution containing at least one compound of above-indicated transition metal and one of above-indicated phosphines disposed in cathode department of electrolytic cell of electrolyzer.
