titleOfInvention Method of preparing didecyl dimethyl ammonium bromide
abstract FIELD: technology of organic compounds. SUBSTANCE: described is preparation of didecyl dimethyl ammonium having fungicidal, antiseptic and some other types of activity. Method comprises adding preferably inorganic base to reaction mixture till 50% conversion of decylbromide is completed when decyl bromide is reacted with dimethyl amine, and reaction is carried out at molar ratio of reagents of 2:(0.8-2):(0.8-1.3), respectively. Final product is thereafter purified from organic impurities by distilling the latter with steam. Method makes it possible to increase yield of the desired product to 85-90% and purity of the product to more than 95% as shown by NMR spectroscopy. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 2 cl, 4 ex, 1 tbl
