SUBSTANCE: regeneration of catalyst accomplished by extraction thereof from bottom residue with water at elevated temperature, cooling of extract suspension, and separation of organics from extract followed by return of catalyst into oxidation zone is distinguished by conducting cooling at the rate 12-18 C/h to 12-20 C and treating extract devoid of organics with hydrohalogen acids in amounts 0.050 to 0.71 mol per Co+Mn summary molarity (for monohalogen condition).
