The latter is selected from group of compounds including hydroxypyridines, aminopyridines, hydroxyquinolines, aminoquinolines, hydroxyispquinolines, and aminoisoquinolines with nitroso or mercapto substituents in ortho- or para-positions to hydroxy or amino groups, tautomers of indicated compounds, and also their salts, esters, and ethers. Lignin is treated with such system simultaneously or in any succession when mixing with aqueous suspension of lignin-containing material.
