titleOfInvention Method of quantitative estimation of bifidobacteria content in mixed cultures of microorganisms
abstract FIELD: biotechnology, microbiology. SUBSTANCE: method involves plating samples to be examined in selective nutrient medium for isolation of bifidobacteria. Platings are kept in thermostat and amount of bifidobacterium cells in examined material is counted. Sodium azide and lithium propionate are used as selective agents that are added in nutrient medium simultaneously in the amount 120-150 mg and 20-30 ml/1 l of nutrient medium, respectively. Invention can be used in medicine, sanitary microbiology and food industry for quantitative determination of bifidobacteria in different biomaterial. Proposed method is available for any bacteriological laboratory and ensures to carry out isolation and quantitative determination of bifidobacteria from mixed culture in different biomaterial. Method uses any nutrient media. EFFECT: simplified method. 2 cl, 2 ex
