abstract FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves doing scleroplasty operation with four to six-rowed peripheral argon laser coagulation under 250-300 mW with exposure time of 0.07-0.15 s and spot diameter of 100-200 mcm 2-4 months later. The total number of applications is 450-550. Then, 10-15 days later, trabeculoplasty operation is done in the inferior hemisphere under 600-850 mW with exposure time of 0.15-0.20 s and spot diameter of 50-100 mcm, the total number of applications being 40-60. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in preventing progressive development of the disease. 2 tbl
