abstract | FIELD: manufacture of main components of protective alloying coatings of welding electrodes. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of adding necessary quantity of oxide of alloying element into initial ilmenite; after preliminary annealing in oxygen containing atmosphere subjecting received mixture to complex gasothermic reduction-carbidizing treatment in controlled gaseous atmosphere having hydrogen and carbon-containing ingredient simultaneously. Received material includes desired quantities of rutile and alloying additive. EFFECT: possibility of making components for high quality electrodes with protective-alloying ilmenite-type coatings having increased welding-on factor. |
