abstract FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves collecting air exhaled by a patient through an U- shaped glass tube which curved portion is immersed into cooling medium during 5-7 min to produce exhaled air condensate. Nitrate-to- nitrite reduction in condensate sample under study containing nitrates and nitrites is carried out. Nitrite contents is determined using spectrophotometric examination method in the region of 540 nm wavelength. Nitrogen oxide contents is equimolar to the measured nitrite amount. Pathological state is diagnosed by determining increase or reduction deviation of the received value from norm being equal to 3.1-5.1 mcMole.
