titleOfInvention Method of steel melting in hearth furnace
abstract FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes loading of solid iron charge; pouring of liquid iron as iron charge; blowing of bath with oxygen; filling of foreplates. For filling of foreplates, use is made of mixture of dump open-hearth slag and limestone in ratio of (3-6):1 with fractions sizing 10-25 and 26-50 mm, respectively, with their ratio of 1: (0.7-1.5). Foreplate area-foreplate height ratio shall be equal to 1:(0.6- 1.3). After filling of foreplates, they are held for 5- 20 minutes temperature of 800-1200 C, and liquid iron is poured in. EFFECT: reduced cost of steel due to use of wastes of open-hearth process for formation of foreplates with preservation of their service properties: resistance to erosion and high temperature heating and stability to ferrostatic and hydrodynamic pressure of liquid metal and furnace slag. 2 tbl
