FIELD: pharmaceutical industry. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes novel quaternary nitrogen- containing phosphonate compounds and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and esters thereof having general formula (I). The present invention also describes pharmaceutical compositions containing effective and safe amount of the claimed compound an pharmaceutically acceptable carriers. The present invention describes processes for treatment and prophylaxis of pathological states which are typical of calcium and phosphate metabolism disorders such as osteoporosis, rheumatoidal arthritis and osteoarthritis in humans and mammals and medical treatment of tooth calculuses, tooth deposits and gingivitis. The claimed process comprises adding safe and effective amount of compound or composition of the present invention.
