abstract FIELD: biochemistry, enzymology. SUBSTANCE: method involves the use of the known compound - benzo-[1,2- -c:3,4-c']-bis-[1,2,5]-oxadiazole-1,6-dioxide of the formula (I) given in description of invention as a donor of nitrogen oxide and an activator of soluble guanylate cyclase. This compound exhibits the enhanced effectiveness as a donor of nitrogen oxide and shows more expressed activating effect on soluble guanylate cyclase as compared with its structural analog. The proposed compound can be used for study of regulatory effects of nitrogen oxide and mechanism of its action on soluble form of guanylate cyclase and other NO-depending enzymes.
