titleOfInvention Method of surgically treating wet form of senile macular dystrophy
abstract FIELD: ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: when treating transudative form of senile macular dystrophy, posterior vitrectomy is first performed. Transudative focus of disease is opened by curved knife at angle 15-20 deg. to eye membrane. Spatula with working end bent at angle 140 deg. is inserted into retinotomic incision and subretinal cords are dissected. Into the same incision, spatula with beck-like end is further inserted to detach and remove subretinal membrane. From the side opposite to retinotomic incision, 1 ml of perfluorodecaline is injected through curved cannula to displace transudate. Perfluorodecaline is removed through the same cannula, after which inert gas is introduced. EFFECT: increased treatment safety.
