abstract FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes process for preparing propanol-2 3-substituted 1-amino derivatives of general formula: wherein R is H, alkyl or CH 2 CH 2 OH, (CH 2 ) 3 OH, PhCH 2 CH 2 ; R′ is OH, alkoxy, substituted or unsubstituted phenoxy-, amino-, alkylamino- dialkylamino; hydroxyalkylamino; morpholino-, piperidino, piperazino-, substituted or unsubstituted phenylamino-, phenylalkylamino-, -COOH, azido-or SH. The claimed method comprises reacting 1-halogen -2- hydroxypropyl sulphamates of general formula: wherein R is as defined above, M is alkali metal cation, X is Cl or Br, with corresponding nucleophilic reactants at temperatures between 0 and 120 C in water or mixture thereof with aprotic solvent and subsequently treating the resulting 3-substituted 2-hydroxypropyl sulphamates of general formula III: wherein R″=R′ or CN or SNa wherein R, R′, or M are as defined above, with aqueous solutions of mineral acids at temperatures between 80 and 160 C. The method makes it possible to prepare propanol-2 3-substituted 1-amino derivatives with yields of 60 to 90%. Compounds are used as monomers, plasticizers and hardeners of plastic materials, dyes, motor fuel modifiers, biologically active agents, and in organic synthesis.
