titleOfInvention | Inhibitor of retrovirus multiplication |
abstract | FIELD: medicine, virology, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to substance that can be used as a drug against HIV-1 infection. This substance is the known monosaccharide - D-(-)-fructose. This carbohydrate at concentration 5 mcg/ml and above shows 100% anti-HIV-1 activity. In future this compound can be used for cancer diseases treatment since virus HIV-1 incorporates own genome in genome of host-cell. Resting proviral DNA can induce malignant transformation of cells leading to cancer. It is suggested that mechanism of action is inhibition of process of RNA reverse transcription. Proposed substance does not show any toxicity. EFFECT: inhibitor indicated above. 2 tbl |
