titleOfInvention Method of recovering mono-and diethylene glycols from stillage residue resulting from process of recovery of monoethylene glycol
abstract FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes method of treatment of stillage residue resulting from process of rectifying monoethylene glycol recovered from aqueous solution of ethylene glycols formed as by-product in ethylene oxide production by addition of triethylene glycol or tetraethylene glycol or mixture thereof in amount of 10.0-30.0 wt % to stillage residue to be treated, and the desired products are then recovered by vacuum rectification. Addition of tri-and tetraethylene glycols to said stillage residue causes mobility of the resulting stillage liquid when mono-and diethylene glycols are recovered from said stock and excludes formation of solid precipitales of alkali metal salts in said stillage liquid. In order to reduce costs for treatment of said stock, tri-and tetraethylene glycols should be desirably replaced by stillage residues resulting form rectification of di- and triethylene glycols resulting from desired synthesis of monoethylene glycol by reaction of hydration of ethylene oxide. Use of the claimed method affords high degree of recovery of mono-and diethylene glycols from said product and solves problem of utilization of stillage residues resulting from rectification of monoethylene glycol. EFFECT: more efficient recovery method. 2 cl, 1 dwg , 1 tbl
