abstract FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes 1,4-dialkyloxyanthraquinones having from 4 to 16 carbon atoms as yellow colorants for polyolefins. Colorants are prepared from accessible feedstock using simplified technology by reacting 1,4- dioxyanthraquinone (quinizarine) with alkyl halide at 80- 110 C in the presence of tetrabutyl ammonium halide or benzyl triethylammonium chloride in 40-50 % aqueous solution of potassium or sodium hydroxide.
