abstract | FIELD: food industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves interaction of lime tartrate with soda ash at heating in an aqueous solution up to medium alkaline reaction followed by separation of calcium carbonate by filtration and sorption of metal cations on strong-acid cationite in hydrogen form, evaporation of the purified solution and crystallization. Colored solution of sodium tartrate is treated before sorption with colored tartaric acid solution from this process to pH < 7. The obtained solution is degased immediately and after metal cations sorption of sodium tartrate from solution the obtained solution of tartaric acid is subjected for decolorization with activated carbon.
