titleOfInvention Method and installation for extracting vanadium from vanadium- containing materials
abstract FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of extracting vanadium from vanadium- containing material involving slightly acidic leaching at pH 2.5-3.0 and temperature 60-70 C. Essence of invention consists in that, prior to be leached, starting material in the form of sludge is subjected to multistage acid treatment in order to lower pH value of sludge when maintaining its density 1150-1400 g/l and observing duration of each stage 10-20 min. In this case, pH and temperature values in the 1st to 4th stages are the following: 4.0-5.0 and 25-40 C, 3.9-4.5 and 40-48 C, 3.4-3.9 and 48-52 C, 3.1-3.4 and 52-59 C. As starting material, oxidized and fired vanadium slags with alkali-earth metal compounds are used. Installation includes reactors with stirrers, acid supply and sludge heating systems. Acid supply system contains pipeline, valve, supply manifold rigidly attached to pipeline after valve and acid ducts, which, in turn, are rigidly attached to supply manifold and penetrate into reactors to different extent. Summary open flow area of acid ducts does not exceed cross-section area of acid-supply pipelines before valve. Supply manifold is constructed with drags installed in interspaces between acid ducts for smooth passage of acid through acid ducts and all over the reactor height. Acid ducts are made of acid-resistant material. EFFECT: improved process flowsheet and parameters of process. 4 cl, 1 dwg
