abstract FIELD: biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: biosorbents with polyampholitic properties are prepared from microorganism biomass and may be used to remove from solutions radionuclides and heavy metal ions both in cation and anion forms. Biomass is preliminarily heat treated to 5-30 wt % loss in dry substance and then treated with 0.1-1.25 N alkali solution until solution is decolorized. EFFECT: improved preparation procedure. 1 tbl
