abstract | FIELD: engineering geology; geophysics. SUBSTANCE: rock of interest is sounded in the water-saturated and air-dried states by ultrasonic pulses. Propagation time of the pulses is measured. Longitudinal wave velocities and their relative change due to water saturation of the rock are determined. Properties of the rock are estimated from the relative change of longitudinal wave velocity in rock skeleton. Values of longitudinal wave velocities in rock skeletons are determined from dependencies found by the applicant. EFFECT: improved procedure which allows the variability of rock under action of water to be estimated. 1 tbl, 3 dwg |
