abstract FIELD: medicine, thoracic surgery. SUBSTANCE: method involves disintoxicating and antibacterial therapy, drainage of pleural cavity or lung abscess cavity, washing with antiseptic solutions and additional washing with 0.5-1.0% aqueous suspension of highly dispersed silicon dioxide (polysorb). Method ensures to decrease treatment period by 10 ± 3 days. EFFECT: decreased treatment period.
