abstract FIELD: microbiology. SUBSTANCE: method involves the selection of active cultures of microorganism-destructors of xenobiotics showing ecological hazard. Qualitative evaluation of microorganism capability to decompose xenobiotic is determined by visual monitoring dehydrogenase activity level of microorganisms. Activity is determined on the basis of color reaction with reagent 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride added on the Petri plate which is reduced from colorless salt to red color triphenylformazane by enzyme dehydrogenase showing activity in the process of xenobiotic decomposition. Invention can be used for evaluation of self-purifying soil capability at intensive pesticide use. EFFECT: improved method of microorganisms detection. 3 tbl
