abstract | FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: this medicine known by name of "EQUALEN" is 70-percent water-alcohol extract prepared from four medicinal plants, that is, Agrimonia, Equisetum arvense L. Achillea millefolium and Leonorus quinquelobatus Gilib taken in 3:2:2:2 ratio. Experiments carried out on animals suffering from hepatocholecystitis have revealed the fact that daily per os administration of 16-20-percent solution of disclosed medicinal preparation during 60 to 120 days, preferably during 90 days, or peroral administration of this solution every seven days at 3-to-4-days interruptions (up to 7 days) during overall cure period lasting 120 days (preferably 90 days) in dosage of about 1.2 to 2.0 ml, preferably 1.5 ml three times a day, has shown that cholesterol concrements (previously induced and identified during ultrasonic morphological and biochemical studies) of both large and medium sizes and cholecystitic symptoms have disappeared. EFFECT: normalization of lipoid metabolism and recovery of lipoid balance in gallbladder. |
