FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: the product: pyrimidine derivatives of the formula 1: wherein R 1 is C 1 -C 4 -alkyl; O is C 1 -C 4 -alkyl, halogen; R 2 is C 1 -C 4 -alkyl, O is C 1 -C 4 -alkyl; n is 3-5; Z is C(O)OH, C(O)O-C 1 -C 4 -alkyl, C(O)=NH=S(O) 2 (O)-phenyl. Reagent 1: a compound of the formula II: wherein L is a leaving group. Reagent 2: a compound of the formula III: . Reaction conditions: in an inert organic solvent. The process for controlling undesirable vegetation is carried out by treatment with said pyrimidine derivatives used in an amount of 1 to 10 mg/ha.
