titleOfInvention 2-AMINOBENZOPHENON UV UV ABSORBERS FOR OPHTHALMIC LENSES MATERIALS
abstract 1. A material for an ophthalmic product containing) a UV absorber of formula (I) :( I), where in formula (I) R is H, C-Ci-alkyl, -C (= O) C (= CH) X or C (= O) O- (CH) OC (= O) C (= CH) X; n is 1-6; X is H, CH or CHCH; Y, Y are independently H, Br, Cl, F, I , OCH, NO, -C (= O) C (= CH) X or-C (= O) O- (CH) OC (= O) C (= CH) X; and Y is H, Br, Cl, F, I, OCH or NO; provided that not more than one R, Y and Y can be —C (= O) C (= CH) X or —C (= O) O- ( CH) OC (= O) C (= CH) X; and b) a monomer forming an article selected from the group consisting of acrylic monomers and silicone-containing monomers. 2. A material for an ophthalmic product according to claim 1, characterized in that in the formula (I) R represents H or C-C 1-6 alkyl; n is 1-6; X represents H, CH or CHCH; Y, Y independently represent H, Br, Cl, F, I, OCH, NO, -C (= O) C (= CH) X or-C (= O) O- (CH) OC (= O) C (= CH) X; and Y is Br, Cl, F, I, OCH or NO; provided that not more than one of Y and Y can be —C (= O) C (= CH) X or —C (= O) O- (CH) OC (= O) C (= CH) X.3. A material for an ophthalmic product according to claim 2, characterized in that in formula (I) R represents H or C-C 1-6 alkyl; n is 1-6; X represents H or CH; Y, Y independently represent H, Br, Cl , F, I, OCH, NO, -C (= O) C (= CH) X or-C (= O) O- (CH) OC (= O) C (= CH) X; and Y is Cl; provided that not more than one of Y and Y can be -C (= O) C (= CH) X or-C (= O) O- (CH) OC (= O) C (= CH) X.4. A material for an ophthalmic product according to claim 1, characterized in that the UV absorber is selected from the group consisting of: 2-aminobenzophenone; 2-amino-5-chlorobenzophenone; and 2-methylamino-5-chlorobenzophenone. 5. A material for an ophthalmic product according to claim 1, characterized in that said material for an ophthalmic product contains from 0.1 to 5% (w / w) of a UV absorber. 6. A material for an ophthalmic product according to claim 5, characterized in that said material for an ophthalmic product contains from 0.1 to 4% (w / w) of a UV absorber. 7. Material for an ophthalmic product according to claim 6, characterized in that said material for an ophthalmic product contains from 1 to 3%
