titleOfInvention | DEVICES, OR SCAFFOLDES, FOR RECOVERY OF TISSUES |
abstract | 1. A device or scaffold for tissue repair, having a porous bone ingrowth structure containing interconnected strata surrounded by a microporous membrane. A tissue repair device or scaffold according to claim 1, wherein the microporous shell expands as a guide to stabilize a tissue repair device or scaffold between one or more ends of the bone. A device or scaffold for tissue repair according to claim 1, having a center formed by a hollow space. 4. A tissue repair device or scaffold according to claim 1, wherein the porous ingrowth structure is impregnated with a soluble filler or carrier. A tissue repair device or scaffold according to claim 4, wherein the soluble excipient or carrier is calcium sulfate. A tissue repair device or scaffold according to claim 4, wherein the soluble excipient or carrier is impregnated with one or more of an antibiotic, growth factor, differentiation factor, cytokine, drug, or a combination thereof. A tissue repair device or scaffold according to claim 1, wherein the striations have a diameter of from about 100-350 microns. A tissue repair device or scaffold according to claim 1, wherein the strata have approximately double or substantially the same diameter as the bone trabecula. A tissue repair device or scaffold according to claim 1, wherein one or more of the strata is longitudinally separated by a space of at least 500 μm. A tissue repair device or scaffold according to claim 1, which is porous and contains mesopores with a diameter size of generally more than about 20 microns. 11. Device or scaffold to rebel |
