abstract | 1. A method of recovering at least one rare earth element, comprising: obtaining an acidic composition comprising (i) at least one rare earth element and at least one rare metal, and (ii) at least one iron ion; at least partially removing said at least one iron ion from said acidic composition using an extracting agent, an ion exchange resin, and / or by reacting said composition with a reducing agent to obtain a composition having a reduced content of at least one iron ion; and the interaction of said composition having said reduced content of said at least one iron ion with a precipitating agent with substantially selective precipitation of the first rare earth element and the first rare metal. The method of claim 1, wherein said acidic composition comprises (i) said at least one rare earth element and optionally said at least one rare metal and (ii) FeCl. 3. A method according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said extracting agent is selected from tributyl phosphate, di-2-ethylhexylorthophosphoric acid (HDEHP), bis (2,4,4-trimethylpentyl) phosphinic acid and mono-2-ethylhexyl ether 2- ethylhexylphosphonic acid) .4. A method according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said extracting agent is tributyl phosphate. A method according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said extracting agent is tributyl phosphate in kerosene. A method according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said acidic composition is reacted with Fe (0) to obtain a composition having a reduced Fe content. Cn |
