The device for determining the properties of the tissue to work with an optical measuring device for determining the properties of the tissue, and the tissue (6) contains the epithelium (15) and stroma (14) and the optical measuring device (2) contains: - block (2, 7, 8 9) providing light for providing light (11, 12, 13) illuminating the fabric (6), and a light detecting unit (4, 10) for detecting light (11, 12, 13) from the fabric (6), in which the light supply unit (3, 7, 8, 9) and the light detection unit (4, 10) are configured to generate a first signal indicating light (11) caused by the influence of the region (R1) of the tissue epithelium (6) containing the epithelium (15), the second signal indicating light (12), caused by the influence of the boundary region (R2) of the tissue (6) containing the border between the epithelium (15) and the stroma (14 ), and a third signal indicating light (13) caused by the influence of the tissue stroma region (R3) (6) containing the stroma (14), in which the tissue property determining device (16) is configured to determine tissue properties based on the first, the second and third signals, the tissue property being at least one of healthy tissue, rvical intraepithelial neoplasia and cancer. 2. A device for determining tissue properties, wherein tissue (6) contains epithelium (15) and stroma (14), and said device (1) comprises: an optical measuring device (2) with a light supply unit (3, 7, 8, 9), providing light for illuminating the tissue (6), and a light detecting unit (4, 10) for detecting light from the tissue (6), in which the light providing unit (3, 7, 8, 9) and the light detecting unit (4, 10) made with the possibility of forming the first signal indicating light (11), caused by the influence of the area (R1) of the tissue epithelium (6) containing the epithelium (15), the second signal light indicating light (12), caused by the influence of the boundary region
