abstract 1. A method for producing citrus fibers from a citrus peel, the method comprising. treating the citrus peel to obtain a homogenized citrus peel b. washing the homogenized citrus peel with an organic solvent to obtain a citrus peel washed with an organic solvent c. solvent removal and drying the citrus peel washed with an organic solvent; and d. extracting citrus fiber from it. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the citrus peel is a spent citrus peel. The method according to claim 2, wherein the processing in step (a) comprises homogenizing under pressure using a pressure of 5 MPa to 100 MPa (50 bar to 1000 bar). A method according to claim 3, wherein said treatment is a single-pass homogenization under pressure using a pressure of from 30 MPa to 100 MPa (from 300 bar to 1000 bar). A method according to claim 3, wherein said treatment is a multi-pass homogenization under pressure, containing at least 2 passes, using a pressure of 10 MPa to 60 MPa (100 bar to 600 bar). A method according to claim 1, wherein the citrus peel is subjected to heat treatment at a temperature of from 50 ° C to 140 ° C for a period of from 1 second to 3 minutes before processing in step (a). A method according to claim 1, wherein said method further comprises a step of grinding or spraying until solvent is removed and dried. A method according to claim 1, wherein said method further comprises a step of grinding or pulverization after drying.
