titleOfInvention METHOD FOR PRODUCING ETHYLENE-unsaturated CARBONIC ACIDS OR THEIR ETHERS AND THE CATALYST FOR THIS
abstract 1. A method of producing an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid or its ester, preferably α, β ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid or its ester, comprising the steps of contacting formaldehyde or a suitable source thereof with a carboxylic acid or its ester in the presence of catalyst and optionally in the presence of alcohol, where the catalyst contains barium phosphate crystals in the form of leaves or lamellae / like leaves or lamellae, or a suitable source thereof. 2 . The method of claim 1, wherein the phosphate is selected from pyrophosphate, orthophosphate (PO), hydrogen phosphate, and mixtures thereof. The method of claim 1, wherein the catalyst is at least 50% w / w barium phosphate. The method of claim 2, wherein the catalyst is at least 50% w / w barium phosphate. The method according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the selectivity of the reaction with respect to the ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid or its ester, preferably with respect to the product α, β of the ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid or its ester, in particular to the product (alk ) acrylic acid or alkyl (alk) acrylate is at least 40% mol. 6. The method according to PP. 1-4, in which at least 10% mol / mol of barium phosphate as a whole in the catalyst is in crystalline form. A process according to claim 5, wherein at least 10% mol / mol of barium phosphate as a whole in the catalyst is in crystalline form. The method according to PP. 1-4 and 7, in which the average crystal size (size in the direction of the largest size) of barium phosphate crystals is in the range of 0.002-50 μm. 9. The method of claim 5, wherein the average crystal size (size in the c direction
