abstract | 1. A method of producing N-alkyl (meth) acrylamides of the general formula (1): wherein R is hydrogen or a CH group, R and R are hydrogen or a linear, branched or cyclic alkyl radical, or an aryl radical with 1-12 carbon atoms, characterized in that the supplied (meth) acrylic acid anhydride is reacted with an aqueous solution of an alkylamine of the formula (2): wherein R and R are as defined above and the amide formed is isolated; the interaction is carried out at a temperature of from -5 ° C to 40 ° C and a pressure of from 0.5 to 6 bar, preferably from 0 bar to 1 bar, and the cooling temperature of the reaction vessel is higher than the crystallization temperature of N-alkyl (meth) acrylamide in the reaction solution. 2. A method for producing N-alkyl (meth) acrylamide according to claim 1, characterized in that the collector and the alkylamine are pre-cooled to a temperature below 30 ° C, preferably to a temperature of from 10 ° C to -5 ° C, before the reaction.
