abstract 1. The compound of claim 2, which is 2,4-difluoro-N- {2- (methyloxy) -5- [4- (4-pyridazinyl) -6-quinolinyl] -3-pyridinyl} benzene sulfonamide as the free base. four. The compound according to any one of paragraphs. 1-3, where the cough is an idiopathic chronic cough, a cough variant of asthma, a cough associated with a chest tumor or lung cancer, a viral or post-viral cough, cough upper respiratory tract syndrome (UACS), or post-nasal congestion syndrome or cough associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease (both with acid reflux and non-acid content reflux), chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease, stasis oh heart failure, sarcoidosis or infektsiey.5. The use of a compound representing 2,4-difluoro-N- {2- (methyloxy) -5- [4- (4-pyridazinyl) -6-quinolinyl] -3-pyridinyl} benzene sulfonamide: or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in the manufacture medicines for use in the treatment of cough. 6. A method for treating cough, comprising administering to a patient in need thereof a safe and effective amount of a compound 2,4-difluoro-N- {2- (methyloxy) -5- [4- (4-pyridazinyl) -6-quinolinyl] -3- pyridinyl} -benzenesulfonamide: or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
